So today Akira and I investigated outside of the temple a bit more. I didn't mention it in my last letter, but when we woke up we were in futons in a lovely temple. Kerri has been a very gracious host providing us with clothes and anything we can need. The three of us also pitch in and help out.
Outside the temple there is the river we arrived in, a pink pond that contains strawberry ice cream, a garden, and a bathroom for us all. We do also have a very nice bath.
Akira investigated the pond and I checked out the river. I couldn't find any clues about where we arrived, which is strange because if we drifted too far I'd not even be able to write of this experience. The currents are swift, but the river itself isn't deep.
Even stranger is all the scrap, it just doesn't belong here. The temple itself is a very simple place, there isn't even power like in the base. Our life is a simple one and I find myself appreciating how simple it is. I think I could get used to this and the only thing I dislike is how much I miss you and worry over your safety.
I also feel selfish for wishing you could be here with us when I know what you'd have to go through to be here. Yet I know you'd be safer here than in there. I hope we can figure out some way to tell all of you that we're still alive and outside the base. It hurts to know you think us dead. It hurts to know I caused you pain.
If I can see you again, I promise I won't intentionally cause you pain ever again. My only hope is that someday I'll be able to say that to you.
